The airfield at La Mole
La Mole sits in a wooded valley west of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, inland from Cogolin, and it is one of the most demanding small airports in France. The runway is short, the approach threads between hills, and the field accepts only aircraft types and crews cleared for it, so most traffic is turboprops, light jets and helicopters rather than long-range jets. Operations are daylight only and the airport is at its busiest from May to September. Larger jets usually land at Toulon-Hyères or Nice and the last leg is a helicopter or a car.
There is no chain FBO at La Mole. The airport's own terminal and ground handling look after private passengers, which keeps the arrival small and quick. Because traffic is light and the building is compact, you are often walking to the car park within minutes of the propellers stopping.
Terminal-door pickup, and asking for planeside
The standard meeting point is the forecourt outside the terminal. The chauffeur waits by the exit, and the handling staff bring bags from the aircraft. If you want the car on the apron at the aircraft steps, request it at booking. We pass the chauffeur's name, licence details and plate to the airport and to your aircraft operator, and it happens only if both approve that arrival. On busy August afternoons it is often declined for safety and space reasons, so plan on the terminal door and treat the ramp as a possibility, not a promise.
Border control for arrivals from outside Schengen
France is in the Schengen area. A flight from Nice, Geneva, Milan or Palma arrives as an internal flight with no passport check. The Carrefour de la Foux, where the roads to Saint-Tropez, Grimaud and Cogolin meet, is the bottleneck of the whole gulf in summer. A local chauffeur knows when to take the back road through Gassin and when to stay put.
Luggage, boats and tenders

Traffic climbs from the Easter holidays, peaks in July and August, and stays strong through the Voiles de Saint-Tropez regatta, which is usually held in late September or early October. Waiting time and what the fare covers
Every private arrival is tracked by tail number, and the chauffeur is timed to the actual landing. Included waiting is 60 minutes from landing for an international arrival and 30 minutes for a domestic leg from elsewhere in France; after that, waiting is charged in 15-minute blocks.
