What is included in a Cannes fare
The engine quotes a fixed fare. That covers:
- Included waiting: 60 minutes from landing on international flights, 30 minutes on domestic flights, 15 minutes on hotel, office, restaurant or yacht-berth pickups. Beyond that, 15-minute blocks apply.
- Child seats on request.
Airport or airfield parking at pickup and gratuity are billed at actual cost and added to the Cannes booking. There is no surge pricing during the Film Festival. The price you confirm in February for a May pickup is the price you pay, which matters in a week when demand for cars far exceeds local supply. Arriving by air: Nice airport or Cannes-Mandelieu
Cannes has no scheduled airline service of its own. Nearly every commercial passenger flies into Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, about 30 km to the east. The chauffeur waits at the designated pickup area for pre-booked cars at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2; the exact location is on the confirmation. An in-terminal name-board greeting is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations.
From NCE, the A8 motorway gets you to La Croisette in 30 to 45 minutes in normal conditions. During the Film Festival and on summer Saturdays, allow an hour, because the Cannes exits and the Boulevard Carnot approach back up.
Private flyers have a closer option. Cannes-Mandelieu, about 5 km west of the Palais des Festivals, is a business-aviation and general-aviation airfield with a shorter runway, so it suits light and mid-size jets and turboprops; larger aircraft land at Nice and use the Nice FBO. From Mandelieu to the Croisette is typically 10 to 20 minutes. Helicopter shuttles between Nice and Cannes also operate, and a car can meet them on landing.
Film Festival week: how car service really works
The Festival de Cannes is held each May, usually over about twelve days in the middle of the month, around the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès at the western end of La Croisette. See the official festival site for this year's dates.
What changes for a chauffeur during the festival:
- Security perimeters. Stretches of La Croisette and the streets around the Palais are closed or filtered. Vehicle access to the red carpet steps is by official accreditation only, handled by the festival and its partners. Without it, drop-offs are made at the nearest permitted point and guests walk the last stretch.
- Hotel forecourts. The Carlton, the Martinez and the Majestic Barrière sit on the Croisette and run their own traffic control during the fortnight. Chauffeurs stage where the hotel directs them.
- Evening timing. Premieres, then dinners, then parties at the beach clubs or in villas in Super Cannes and Mougins. An hourly chauffeur avoids waiting for a new car at 2 a.m.
- Book early. Local car supply is fixed, and the good vehicles are committed weeks in advance.

Cannes is a working city for much of the year. The Palais hosts a sequence of global trade events, and each brings its own traffic pattern.

Dates move each year; check MIPIM, Cannes Lions and the Palais des Festivals calendars. For MIPIM in particular, a company taking a yacht or a beach pavilion often books a Sprinter shuttle loop between the Palais, the Vieux Port and the partner hotels, planned by a coordinator. Neighbourhoods and addresses you will use
- La Croisette: the seafront boulevard of palace hotels, private beaches and flagship boutiques.
- Le Suquet: the old hill quarter above the Vieux Port, reached by narrow lanes; drop-offs are usually at the foot of the hill.
- Vieux Port and Quai Laubeuf: the old harbour, the Lérins ferries and the cruise tender landing.

Choosing a vehicle in Cannes
Cannes streets near the Croisette are narrow and busy, and many villa driveways are steep. Match the car to the plan from the fleet:
- Business or Luxury Executive Sedan for one or two people between the airport, a hotel and meetings at the Palais.
- Executive SUV for guests with luggage or for hill properties with steep access.
- Standard Black SUV or Sprinter Van for a sales team or an agency group moving between beach venues.
- Rolls-Royce, Maybach, Bentley or a stretch limousine (partner) for premieres, weddings and gala dinners.
- Armoured vehicles (partner) on request and only after a risk assessment.
- Minicoach or motorcoach for conference delegations and incentive tours.
Every affiliate vehicle is four model years old or younger; the only exceptions are Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Bentley, accepted up to seven.
Yachts, crews and the Yachting Festival
Cannes is one of the Mediterranean's main superyacht bases, and a good share of chauffeur work here starts or ends on a quay. The Vieux Port and Port Canto host the Cannes Yachting Festival each September, when brokers, buyers and crews move between berths, the Palais and hotel meetings for about a week. Outside the festival, yachts change guests on Saturdays through the summer, and a changeover day typically means an airport arrival, a provisioning stop and a berth drop-off in quick succession.
For these trips, give the chauffeur the yacht name, the marina and the berth or pontoon number. Marina access for vehicles is controlled, so the chauffeur sets down at the nearest permitted point and the crew collects luggage from there. Evenings in the hills: Mougins, Super Cannes and Cap d'Antibes
Some of the most requested trips in Cannes are short but awkward. Restaurants in Mougins village sit up a hill with little parking. Villas in Super Cannes and La Californie are reached by steep, narrow roads with gated drives and turning circles that suit a sedan or SUV better than a long limousine. Parties at beach clubs and private homes on Cap d'Antibes often end after midnight, when taxi supply along the coast thins out.
Booking the car by the hour solves most of this. The chauffeur drops you, waits nearby, and is back at the gate when you call. If a group is splitting between two venues, book two cars rather than asking one to shuttle, because the timings rarely line up. Cruise days in Cannes
Cannes has no deep-water cruise berth. Ships anchor in the bay and bring passengers to the tender landing in the Vieux Port, a short walk from the Palais. A chauffeur can wait near the port for a day tour to Grasse, Saint-Paul-de-Vence or Monaco, or run a transfer to Nice airport at the end of a cruise, usually 35 to 55 minutes. Since tender operations depend on sea conditions, the booking should carry the ship's name so timings can be adjusted. Journey times from Cannes
Driving is on the right, and the A8 motorway is tolled. Common intercity transfers:
- Cannes to Nice airport: about 30 km, 30 to 45 minutes.

- Cannes to Grasse: about 17 km, 25 to 35 minutes.

The main rail station, Gare de Cannes, is in the centre on Rue Jean Jaurès, with TGV and coastal TER services.
Entry rules for visitors
France applies Schengen rules. Since 10 April 2026, non-EU visitors are registered in the Entry/Exit System at their first Schengen border: a face image and fingerprints on the first visit, then a quicker check on later trips. Long-haul arrivals into Nice may therefore spend longer at passport control than they are used to; the 60 minutes of included waiting from the actual landing time covers most cases.
The ETIAS travel authorisation is not required yet. The EU dropped its late-2026 target in July 2026 and says it will give several months' notice of the start date. The ETIAS information page is the reliable source.
