Marseille Provence Airport (MRS)
The airport is at Marignane on the Étang de Berre, about 27 km north-west of the Vieux-Port. Terminal 1 has Hall A, for flights outside the Schengen area, and Hall B, for Schengen and domestic flights; Terminal 2 (mp²) serves low-cost airlines. Your chauffeur waits at the airport's designated pick-up area for pre-booked cars and messages the car and meeting spot when you land. Meet and greet in the arrivals hall with a name board is an add-on; add-ons are only available in selected locations. The drive to the centre on the A7 takes 25 to 45 minutes, and the approach through the northern districts is slow at rush hour.
Cruise terminal transfers
Marseille is one of the Mediterranean's main cruise ports. Most large ships dock at the cruise terminal at Cap Janet in the northern port basins, around 15 to 25 minutes from the Vieux-Port; smaller ships may use berths closer to La Joliette and the Mucem. The port controls vehicle access, so the chauffeur meets you at the pickup area the terminal assigns rather than at the gangway. Saint-Charles station and TGV connections
Marseille Saint-Charles, on its hill above the centre, has TGV services to Paris Gare de Lyon in about 3 hours 10 to 3 hours 20 minutes, and fast trains to Lyon, Nice and Montpellier. Chauffeurs meet train passengers at the agreed pickup point below the station, as cars cannot reach the platforms.

The A7, A8, A50 and A51 are toll motorways. Times vary with summer holiday traffic, which peaks on Saturdays in July and August.
The Crit'Air zone (ZFE)
Marseille runs a low-emission zone, the ZFE-m, inside a perimeter roughly bounded by the A7, A55, L2 and A50. Vehicles need a Crit'Air sticker to drive in it, including cars registered abroad, and the least clean categories (unclassified, Crit'Air 5 and Crit'Air 4) are barred. A 2026 attempt in Parliament to abolish France's low-emission zones was struck down by the Constitutional Council in May 2026, so the zone stays in force. Visitors hiring or bringing their own car should order the sticker from the official Crit'Air site. A chauffeured car removes the question entirely for passengers.
Districts, hotels and venues
- Vieux-Port and Le Panier: the old harbour and the oldest quarter, with Notre-Dame de la Garde above.
- Euroméditerranée and La Joliette: the business district by the port, with the CMA CGM tower and the Docks.
- Prado and Corniche Kennedy: the seaside avenues, the Vélodrome stadium and the Parc Chanot exhibition centre.
- The Calanques: the national park of limestone coves between Marseille and Cassis.

Shore days and day trips from Marseille
Cruise passengers with a day in port often book a chauffeur rather than a coach tour, because the car leaves when they are ready and returns to the terminal on a timed schedule. Common routes:
- Aix-en-Provence: the Cours Mirabeau, Cézanne's studio and the markets, 30 to 45 minutes away.
- Cassis and the Calanques viewpoints: the Route des Crêtes between Cassis and La Ciotat, closed in strong wind or high fire risk in summer.
- The Luberon: Gordes, Roussillon and Lourmarin, about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes each way.
- Avignon and Châteauneuf-du-Pape: the Palais des Papes and the wine villages.

Entering France from outside the EU
The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully operational since 10 April 2026: non-EU visitors register fingerprints and a facial image at their first Schengen entry, which can lengthen queues at Hall A. ETIAS, the online travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, has not launched and is not yet required. Check the official Travel to Europe site before you fly. International arrivals include 60 minutes of waiting from the actual landing.
Vehicles, waiting and cancellations
Pick a Standard Sedan, Luxury Executive Sedan, executive SUV, Standard Black SUV or Sprinter; minicoaches and motorcoaches carry shore excursion groups (the fleet). Waiting: 60 minutes on international flights, 30 minutes on domestic flights, 15 minutes on other pickups, including ship and station pickups, then 15-minute blocks. Child seats are free on request.
