Toulouse Matabiau station
Matabiau, on the Canal du Midi northeast of the centre, receives TGV services from Paris-Montparnasse, typically about 4 hours 10 minutes to 4 hours 40 minutes, and regional trains to Bordeaux, Montpellier and the Pyrenees. Local driving: the peripherique and the low-emission zone
France drives on the right. The Toulouse ring road carries heavy commuter traffic from about 7:30 to 9:30 and 17:00 to 19:00, especially on the western section toward Blagnac. The metropolitan area operates a low-emission zone (ZFE) in which vehicles need a Crit'Air sticker and older categories are restricted; the rules are set by Toulouse Metropole and tighten in stages. Entry rules for non-EU visitors
The Entry/Exit System has been fully in place across the Schengen area since April 2026: at your first entry, border police record fingerprints and a facial image instead of stamping the passport, which can lengthen queues at Blagnac on flights from outside the EU. ETIAS has not launched as of September 2026, and the EU will give notice of its start on the official travel site.
