The DI card: fill it in before you travel
Everyone entering Curacao who is not a resident, children included, must complete the free Digital Immigration Card within the seven days before departure at the official DI card portal. Curacao International Airport (CUR): arrival and pickup
The airport at Hato is on the north side of the island, about 12 km from central Willemstad. After immigration and customs you exit to the arrivals area, where pre-booked transport collects passengers in the designated pickup area. That is the standard pickup; your chauffeur messages the vehicle details and position. The Queen Juliana Bridge over St. Anna Bay carries road traffic between the two halves of Willemstad; rush hours and bridge closures in high wind slow things down. The fare stays fixed.
Willemstad: Punda, Otrobanda, Pietermaai and Scharloo
Willemstad's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is split by St. Anna Bay. Punda, on the east bank, has the pastel Handelskade waterfront, Fort Amsterdam and the shopping streets. Otrobanda, on the west bank, has the Rif Fort, the Kura Hulanda museum and hotels, and the cruise pier. The Queen Emma pontoon bridge links the two on foot and swings open for ships. Pietermaai and Scharloo, just east of Punda, hold restored mansions turned into boutique hotels and restaurants. Resorts along the south coast
West of the city, Piscadera Bay holds the conference hotels and the World Trade Center Curacao. Cruise piers in Willemstad
Cruise ships berth at the Mega Pier on the Otrobanda side at the mouth of St. Anna Bay, with a second cruise berth inside the harbour. Both are within a few minutes' walk or drive of the old town. Port, drydock and crew changes
Curacao's deep Schottegat harbour hosts a large ship repair and drydock yard, the refinery and oil terminals, and regular crew changes. Crew are moved between CUR, hotels and the port gate on the vessel's schedule, often at night. See shipping crew change.
Driving on the island
Curacao drives on the right. Main roads are paved and there are no tolls; roundabouts are common around Willemstad. Roads to the western beaches narrow and twist, and goats on the road are a real thing in Banda Abou. Night driving there is slower.

Big festival nights end late and traffic around Piscadera is heavy, so book return cars ahead through event transportation.
Day trips on Curacao
The west of the island rewards a full day: Christoffel National Park and its hill, Shete Boka's sea caves, the Landhuis Kenepa plantation house, and swimming stops at Grote Knip, Playa Piskado and Playa Lagun, where turtles feed close to the fishing boats. Closer to town, the Hato caves near the airport, the Curacao Liqueur distillery at Landhuis Chobolobo and the floating market in Punda fill a half day.
