HDN in Hayden has a small single terminal. In ski season it receives nonstop flights from several large US hubs; outside winter the schedule is much thinner and many visitors fly into Denver instead. Standard pickup is curbside at the pre-arranged pickup area outside baggage claim, and the chauffeur texts the vehicle details when you land. A name-board meet and greet inside is an add-on; add-ons are only available in selected locations. The Denver route and Rabbit Ears Pass
From DEN the usual route is I-70 west through the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel to Silverthorne, north on Colorado 9 to Kremmling, then west on US-40 over Rabbit Ears Pass at about 9,426 feet and down into the valley. The alternative over Berthoud Pass and through Winter Park is shorter in miles but slower in winter. Steamboat's neighbourhoods
The town has two centres. Old Town, along Lincoln Avenue and the Yampa River, keeps the ranching-town main street, with the Old Town Hot Springs, restaurants and the ski-jumping hill at Howelsen, Colorado's oldest ski area in continuous use. The mountain area, about three miles southeast, spreads out from Gondola Square at the base of Steamboat Resort, with the Steamboat Grand, One Steamboat Place and hundreds of ski-in, ski-out condominiums. Strawberry Park Hot Springs lies about seven miles north of town on a steep, unpaved final stretch that requires four-wheel drive or chains in winter, so book an SUV for that visit.

There is no passenger rail to Steamboat. The nearest Amtrak stop is Granby on the California Zephyr, about 1.5 hours east, with a scheduled daily stop each way; timetables are on Amtrak. A chauffeur from Granby is a practical way to finish a rail trip across the Rockies. The Steamboat Springs airport at Bob Adams Field is a general aviation field without airline service.
