Neighbourhoods and business addresses
The ministries and Centraal station form the modern administrative core, known locally as the Central Innovation District. Beyond it, the historic centre around the Binnenhof and Plein, the Noordeinde area with its palace and galleries, the Statenkwartier near the Gemeentemuseum (Kunstmuseum Den Haag), and Wassenaar, a wealthy suburb to the north with several ambassadors' residences. Leiden, about 20 km north, is home to a university and life-science park, and Delft, 10 km southeast, to its technical university.
Stations and intercity routes
The Hague has two main stations: Den Haag Centraal, next to the ministries, and Den Haag HS (Hollands Spoor), on the intercity line to Rotterdam and Brussels. Driving in The Hague
Driving is on the right. The A4, A12 and A13 form the main access, and the A12 into the centre ends at a tunnel under the ministries that fills at the morning peak. Entry rules for The Hague
