Terminals at Vienna Airport
Vienna Airport, in Schwechat about 18 km south-east of the city centre, has Terminals 1, 1A, 2 and 3 under one connected roof. Terminal 3, with its long Pier North, handles Austrian Airlines and most Star Alliance partners, while Terminal 1 serves many other network airlines and 1A is used mainly by low-cost carriers. Arriving passengers from all of them come out through the baggage halls into the arrivals area on the ground floor, so a chauffeur never needs to cross from one end of the airport to the other to reach you. Where the chauffeur meets you
Curbside pickup at the airport's designated area for pre-booked and commercial vehicles is the standard service. After you clear baggage reclaim, contact the chauffeur, who is already waiting nearby with the car and will direct you to the exact pickup point. Passport control and the Entry/Exit System
Austria is in the Schengen area. Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without a passport check, although carry ID. Flights from outside Schengen, such as London, Dubai, New York or Istanbul, go through border control, where the EU's Entry/Exit System is now in operation. On your first entry as a non-EU visitor, officers or kiosks take fingerprints and a facial image, and the digital record replaces the passport stamp; later entries are faster. In practice, allow 15 to 40 minutes from the aircraft door to the baggage belt on a non-Schengen arrival, more if several wide-bodies land together in the early morning. That fits inside the 60 minutes of included waiting in most cases.
Drive times from Schwechat into Vienna
The A4 Ost Autobahn runs from the airport straight to the Landstraße district, where it meets the Ring roads. Expect these ranges:

Weekday peaks on the A4 and the Südosttangente (A23) run from about 07:00 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 18:30. Austrian motorways require a toll vignette on every vehicle.
Rail options: CAT, Railjet and S-Bahn
Vienna has good rail links from the station directly below the terminals. The City Airport Train runs non-stop to Wien Mitte in 16 minutes. ÖBB Railjet and regional services reach Wien Hauptbahnhof in about 15 minutes, and the S7 S-Bahn stops at local stations on the way to Wien Mitte in around 25 minutes. Trains are fast when you travel light and your hotel is next to a station. A chauffeur makes more sense with luggage, children, a late arrival, a group, or a destination away from the rail line, such as a villa in the Wienerwald or the UN complex across the Danube. If you are taking a train onward, a car to the Vienna Hauptbahnhof takes about 25 minutes.

Late flights, waiting time and cancelling
When a flight is delayed, the chauffeur's timing shifts with the tracked arrival and you pay nothing extra for the delay. Waiting after the included period is added in 15-minute blocks. You can cancel free of charge until 72 hours before pickup. From 72 hours the fee is 10%, from 48 hours 50%, and from 24 hours, or if nobody shows, the full fare.
