Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN)
GDN is in Rębiechowo, about 12 to 15 km west of the Main Town, and is Poland's busiest airport outside Warsaw and Kraków for many routes to Scandinavia and the UK. Passenger flights use Terminal T2, linked to the older T1 building. Your chauffeur picks up curbside at the airport's designated pre-arranged pickup area outside arrivals and messages the exact bay; the car is timed by live flight tracking. For a chauffeur standing in the GDN arrivals hall with a sign, choose the meet and greet add-on; add-ons are only available in selected locations.

Cruise calls: Gdynia is the main port
Most cruise ships that advertise "Gdańsk" berth in Gdynia, about 25 km north. Large ships use the French Quay (Nabrzeże Francuskie) in the working port, which has limited passenger facilities, while some smaller ships use the Pomeranian Quay near Gdynia's centre, and a few small ships berth in Gdańsk itself. A chauffeur meets you at the quay's designated vehicle area, drives you to the Main Town, the European Solidarity Centre and Westerplatte, and returns you well before all-aboard. Main Town, Oliwa, Wrzeszcz and Sopot
- Main Town (Główne Miasto): the rebuilt Hanseatic core with Długi Targ, Neptune's Fountain, St Mary's Church and the Motława waterfront with the medieval crane. Traffic is restricted in much of it; drop-offs are at the edge.
- Granary Island and Old Town: hotels and apartments on Wyspa Spichrzów, and the Old Town north of the Main Town.
- Wrzeszcz and Oliwa: the office and university belt on the way to Sopot, with the Olivia Business Centre and Oliwa Cathedral.
- Letnica: the stadium district with Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk and the AmberExpo exhibition centre.
- Sopot: the resort town between Gdańsk and Gdynia, with its long wooden pier and the Sofitel Grand Sopot.

Museums and venues that shape the week
The European Solidarity Centre beside the shipyard gates, the Museum of the Second World War and the Westerplatte peninsula draw visitors year-round. Ergo Arena on the Gdańsk and Sopot boundary hosts concerts and indoor sport; AmberExpo in Letnica runs trade fairs, including amber and maritime shows. Conference days split between AmberExpo, a hotel and a dinner in Sopot are simplest as an hourly chauffeur booking.

- Early July: Open'er Festival in Gdynia, with heavy traffic around the Kosakowo airfield site.

- July and August: peak season on the Hel peninsula and in Sopot; weekend traffic north is slow.

Trains: Gdańsk Główny and the PKM line
Gdańsk Główny, the main station, sits just west of the Old Town and has direct Intercity and Pendolino services to Warsaw in roughly three hours; see PKP Intercity. SKM commuter trains link Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia every few minutes, and the PKM line connects the airport with Wrzeszcz. We collect from the station forecourt's permitted stopping area.
Malbork, Warsaw and longer runs
Malbork Castle, the largest brick castle in Europe and a UNESCO site, is a natural half-day about an hour away on the S7. Warsaw is about 340 km via the S7 expressway, typically three and a half to four hours, and a sensible intercity transfer for groups; see our Warsaw page. The A1 motorway south toward Toruń and Łódź is tolled on the privately operated section.
Local driving notes
Poland drives on the right and requires dipped headlights at all times. Central Gdańsk has trams, cobbles and paid parking zones, and summer weekends bring heavy traffic toward Sopot, the Kashubian lakes and Hel. In the Main Town, pedestrian streets mean the chauffeur will usually stop at a nearby street and walk to meet you if you ask.
Entry, EES and documents
Poland is in Schengen but uses the złoty, not the euro. The EU Entry/Exit System is fully operational for non-EU arrivals, and ETIAS has not launched. Non-EU visitors should check EU rules before travel. Families can ask for a free child seat for the ride in from GDN.
