Seychelles International Airport (SEZ): where pickup happens
SEZ is on reclaimed land at Pointe Larue on Mahe's east coast, about 10 km south of Victoria. The international and domestic terminals stand side by side, a short walk apart. Routes to the west coast cross the island on the Sans Souci or La Misere mountain roads, both steep and narrow. Heavy tropical rain slows everything.
Island hopping: Praslin, La Digue and the private islands
There are two ways to reach Praslin. The inter-island flight from the SEZ domestic terminal takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and the chauffeur simply drops you at the domestic terminal next door. The fast ferry from Inter Island Quay in Victoria takes about an hour to Praslin; La Digue is reached by a short onward ferry from Praslin of roughly 15 minutes, or by the ferries that continue from Mahe. La Digue has very few cars, so arrivals there are usually met by the hotel's own transport or bicycles.
Private-island resorts such as North Island, Fregate, Desroches and Silhouette bring guests over by helicopter, light aircraft or boat. Most Mahe resorts sit at the end of private drives above their beaches, and staff meet the car at the entrance to take the luggage and walk you to reception. Hillside villas can be reached only by the resort's own buggies, so the chauffeur hands over at the arrival pavilion. Banks, law firms and the offshore company sector are here, and Eden Island, a marina development just offshore linked by a causeway, holds apartments, villas and offices. Cruise and yacht arrivals at Port Victoria
Cruise ships berth at Port Victoria, mostly between October and April. Driving in the Seychelles
The Seychelles drives on the left. Roads have no hard shoulder, open storm drains line many bends, buses stop in the lane, and on the mountain passes two cars often have to squeeze past each other. Parking in Victoria is scarce during office hours. These are good reasons to leave the driving to a local chauffeur.
Vehicles on Mahe
A Standard Sedan or an executive SUV covers most couples and families; the SUV is better with dive gear and large cases. A Standard Black SUV or Sprinter Van handles wedding parties and small groups. Events and seasons

- May to September: the southeast trade winds, with rougher water on the south and east coasts and calmer conditions around Beau Vallon.

Entry rules for the Seychelles in 2026
The Seychelles does not require a visa for tourists of any nationality, but every visitor must obtain a Travel Authorisation before travel through the official Seychelles Electronic Border System, with a fee. You need a return ticket and a confirmed booking for each place you stay, and the visitor's permit is issued on arrival. Cruise and yacht passengers complete the maritime version of the form.
