Acapulco International Airport (ACA)

Hurricane Otis struck Acapulco in October 2023 and Hurricane John brought severe flooding in September 2024. The toll highway from Mexico City to Acapulco crosses the mountains of Morelos and Guerrero, past Cuernavaca and Chilpancingo, and the Mexcala bridge high above the Balsas River. It is a well-built road, but landslides after heavy rain, weekend congestion at the Tlalpan toll plaza leaving the capital and the long climb out of Chilpancingo all affect timing.
