BJX, run by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, sits between Leon and Silao and has the widest choice of US nonstops into the region. From BJX the chauffeur takes the highway east past Silao and Guanajuato's turnoff, then the two-lane road through Dolores Hidalgo or the route via Comonfort, depending on works and time of day. Driving in the Centro Historico
The historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008 together with the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, is a grid of steep cobbled lanes built long before cars. Streets such as Cuna de Allende and Aldama are narrow, one-way and often closed for processions. Sedans and SUVs reach most hotels, but a Sprinter or minicoach usually cannot, so group drops happen at the edge of the centre (for example near the Jardin Allende or on Calle Ancha de San Antonio) with a short walk. Late arrivals and the road after dark
Many flights into BJX and QRO land in the evening, so a large share of San Miguel transfers run at night. The routes are mostly two-lane highways with topes (speed bumps) through villages, livestock near the verge and few lights, which is why a professional chauffeur who drives them every week is worth having. Changes and cancellations
Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup at no charge. From 72 hours the charge is 10 %, from 48 hours 50 %, and from 24 hours, or for a no-show, 100 %. Travel managers can run guests through corporate accounts for monthly invoicing.
