Da Nang International Airport (DAD)
DAD is one of Asia's closest airports to a city centre, only about 3 km from the Han River. Terminal 1 is domestic and Terminal 2 is international, side by side. The coast: where the resorts are
The beach runs south from the Son Tra peninsula for over 30 km to Hoi An. Hoi An: the pedestrian old town
Hoi An's ancient town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is closed to cars and most motorbikes for much of the day and evening. Cruise ships calling for Da Nang usually berth at Tien Sa port at the foot of the Son Tra peninsula, around 20 to 30 minutes from the centre and about 45 minutes to an hour from Hoi An. Larger vessels sometimes use Chan May, closer to Hue, which is about 60 to 90 minutes from Da Nang by road. - Late January or February: Tet, the Lunar New Year, with closures for about a week.
- June and July: the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, over several Saturday nights on the Han River, with heavy road closures near the bridges.
- Weekend evenings: the Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water at around 9 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, drawing crowds.
- September to December: the rainy season, with typhoon risk mostly in October and November.

Local driving conditions
Vietnam drives on the right. Da Nang is calmer and more orderly than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, with wide coastal boulevards such as Vo Nguyen Giap and Truong Sa, but motorbikes still set the pace.
