LGK sits at Padang Matsirat on the west side of the main island and is operated by Malaysia Airports. Which part of Langkawi are you staying in?

Ferries from Kuah: Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah, Penang and Satun
Kuah Jetty Point is the island's ferry hub. Crossings to Kuala Perlis take roughly an hour and to Kuala Kedah about an hour and three quarters; the Penang service is closer to three hours and does not run in every season. Ferries to Satun in southern Thailand also leave from Kuah, with immigration at the jetty. Duty-free island and entry rules
Langkawi is a duty-free zone, so wine, spirits and chocolate cost less than on the mainland, but customs limits apply when you leave for the mainland by air or sea. Foreign visitors entering Malaysia must submit the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within three days before arrival, through the Immigration Department of Malaysia portal. Singapore citizens and a few other categories are exempt, and children need their own card.
Events and seasons
The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre near the airport, usually in May of odd-numbered years, and fills much of the island's hotel capacity. The drier season runs roughly from November to April, which is also the busiest period for resort transfers. The island is a UNESCO Global Geopark, managed with the Langkawi Development Authority, and mangrove and geopark tours leave from Kilim.
Island touring by the hour
