Booking a Corfu transfer

Corfu International Airport (CFU): one terminal, close to town

Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport sits on the southern edge of Corfu Town, about 3 km from the Old Town, and is run by Fraport Greece. Summer days bring a heavy peak of charter flights, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, and the single terminal gets crowded. The chauffeur waits at the airport's designated area for pre-booked transfers outside arrivals and sends the meeting point once you land. Being met inside the Corfu arrivals hall with a name board costs extra as an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations.

Every flight is tracked. International and EU flights include 60 minutes of waiting from actual landing, domestic flights from Athens or Thessaloniki 30 minutes, and other pickups 15 minutes, followed by 15-minute blocks. Airport details are on Corfu Airport.

Drive times across the island

Corfu's roads are narrow and winding, especially north of Dassia and around Pantokrator, and many villa driveways are steep. A Standard Sedan or executive SUV handles most of them; for larger vans, tell us about tight access so the local affiliate can check the approach.

Corfu Port: cruise ships and ferries

The port lies on the west side of Corfu Town, a 5 to 10 minute drive from the airport. Cruise ships berth at the new port and passengers use the terminal area set by the port authority; the Old Town and the Old Fortress are about 2 km away. Ferries run to Igoumenitsa on the mainland in about 1 h 15 min to 1 h 45 min, and international ferries connect with Italian ports. The Corfu Port Authority posts schedules. Corfu Town and the resorts

The Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a grid of Venetian lanes between the Old and New Fortresses, with the Liston arcade and the Spianada square at its heart. Much of it is closed to traffic, so the chauffeur sets down at the nearest permitted point on the edge. The Achilleion Palace is 10 km south at Gastouri. North of town, Kontokali, Gouvia and Dassia hold the larger resort hotels, while the north-east coast from Nissaki to Kassiopi is the villa coast facing Albania. Paleokastritsa on the west coast is known for its bays and monastery.

When to visit and what is on

• Orthodox Easter, dates vary; Corfu's Holy Saturday pot-throwing in the Old Town draws crowds and closes streets.
• Peak season, June to September, when the airport and coast roads are busiest.
• Saint Spyridon processions, held several times a year, including Palm Sunday and August.
• Autumn, October, quieter roads and a favourite month for walking tours.

Driving in Corfu

Greece drives on the right. Expect scooters, quad bikes and rental cars driven by visitors unfamiliar with the hairpins, buses squeezing through villages, and limited parking in Corfu Town. Summer afternoons bring slow traffic on the road north through Gouvia and Dassia. There are no tolls on the island. Your fare is fixed regardless of delays.

Yachts, weddings and villa groups

Corfu's Gouvia marina is one of the largest in the Ionian, and superyachts anchor off Kassiopi and Paxos in summer, so crew changes and owner arrivals are common bookings. The chauffeur meets owners and guests at the marina office or a tender pier and runs luggage ahead to the villa when needed. Connections elsewhere in Greece

Most onward trips are by air: Athens is under an hour's flight, and our chauffeurs meet you at Athens International. Thessaloniki is reached via the Igoumenitsa ferry and the Egnatia Odos motorway, about 290 km from Igoumenitsa, 3 to 3 hours 30 minutes of driving.

Entry notes

Greece is in the EU and Schengen. Travellers from outside the EU on short stays are registered in the Entry/Exit System, with fingerprints and a photo, at their first Schengen entry, which may be Corfu on a direct flight from the UK. ETIAS is not yet required as of September 2026. Many UK and non-EU charter flights arrive at the same hours, so allow time at passport control in summer.

Cancellation rules

You can cancel free of charge more than 72 hours before pickup. At 72 hours or less a 10% fee applies, 50% at 48 hours or less, and 100% at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
