Pickup at Heathrow's four terminals
Heathrow runs Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. The terminal forecourts are for drop-off and carry a charge, so pre-booked cars collect curbside from the designated pickup points in each terminal's short-stay car park. Flights are tracked, and included waiting is 60 minutes from an international landing, 30 minutes from a domestic one, 15 minutes elsewhere, then 15-minute blocks. Heathrow passport queues vary widely, so the 60 minutes is measured from touchdown.

Royal Ascot and the racing calendar
Royal Ascot is held at Ascot Racecourse over five days in mid-June, Tuesday to Saturday. Traffic around the course is managed with closures and one-way systems, and cars use the drop-off and collection areas the racecourse publishes. Book early, fix a collection point for after the last race, and expect the departure to take time. Dress codes are strict in the Royal Enclosure, so leave time to change at the hotel. Windsor Castle, Eton and Legoland
Windsor Castle is usually open to visitors Thursday to Monday; check the Royal Collection Trust for current days. Castle Hill and Peascod Street around it are busy with pedestrians, so drop-offs are made on nearby streets. Eton College is across the footbridge over the Thames. Legoland Windsor Resort is about 2 miles southwest on the B3022, and on summer weekends its access road queues well back towards the town. Windsor Great Park, the Savill Garden and Virginia Water lake lie to the south.

Visa-exempt visitors, including US, Canadian, Australian and EU citizens, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation before travel. It costs £20 from 8 April 2026, covers visits of up to six months, and lasts two years or until the passport expires. Apply on GOV.UK.
