Geneva to Verbier by chauffeur
Most guests land at Geneva Airport. The drive follows the A1 along Lake Geneva past Lausanne and Montreux, then the A9 up the Rhône valley to Martigny. From there a valley road climbs the Val de Bagnes to Le Châble, and the final stretch zigzags up to Verbier at about 1,500 m. In light traffic this takes about 2 hours; on Saturday changeover days in February, allow closer to 3.
Pickup is at Geneva's designated area for pre-booked cars, where your chauffeur messages the vehicle details after landing. Having the chauffeur inside the arrivals hall with a name board is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations. Geneva has a French sector as well as the Swiss one; if you arrive on a flight into the French side, the booking should say so and the chauffeur meets you there.
Booking and what the fare covers
Put in your flight number and the chalet address (the name of the chalet plus the street, since Verbier's chalets are known by name). Flights are tracked. From the actual landing, 60 minutes of waiting are included for international arrivals and 30 for domestic ones; hotel and chalet pickups include 15 minutes. After that, 15-minute blocks apply.
Chalet roads, snow and the right vehicle
Verbier's chalets sit on steep, narrow lanes above and below the Place Centrale, and some are reached by tight hairpins. That shapes the vehicle choice:
- Executive SUV: the default for two to four guests in winter, with winter tyres and all-wheel drive.
- Standard Black SUV: for a family with skis and boot bags.
- Sprinter Van: fine to the resort centre, but it may not reach every chalet; ask and we will check the access.
- Minicoach: for groups staying in hotels near the centre.

Sion Airport for private jets
Sion Airport is about 50 km from Verbier, typically 45 minutes to an hour by road, and is widely used by business jets in the ski season. Hotels and where drop-offs happen
Hotels such as the W Verbier by the Médran lift station, the Chalet d'Adrien near the Savoleyres lift and the Hotel Nevaï on the main road take cars at the entrance. In the centre, the Place Centrale is the natural meeting point for restaurants and bars. For a night out, an hourly chauffeur with the car on standby avoids waiting for the few local taxis at closing time.
A typical Saturday changeover
Winter weeks in Verbier's chalets usually run Saturday to Saturday, which puts a surge of arrivals and departures on the same day and the same roads. Outgoing guests leave the resort in the morning, incoming guests land at Geneva from late morning, and both streams share the lakeside motorway and the climb from Le Châble. A few practical habits make the day easier:
- Give your flight number rather than a pickup time; the chauffeur works from the live landing.
- Tell the chalet host your estimated arrival so the chalet is open and staffed when you reach it.
- Leave the resort early for an afternoon flight. The final descent to Le Châble and the Martigny area slow down after 10:00.
- If the group is split across flights, book separate cars rather than asking one car to wait hours.
For Christmas, New Year and the February school holidays, book well ahead; vehicles in the Valais are fully committed on peak Saturdays.
Who books in Verbier
Chalet owners and their guests, family offices, ski families from the UK and Scandinavia, freeride fans in town for Xtreme Verbier, festival audiences in July and corporate groups on offsites. Train and gondola alternative
Swiss trains run from Geneva to Martigny, and a regional line continues to Le Châble, where the gondola climbs to Verbier. It works well for light travellers. For ski bags, children or late flights, a chauffeur to the door is far simpler.

Entry and customs notes
Switzerland belongs to Schengen but not the EU customs union. Non-EU visitors are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System at their first Schengen border, fully in place since April 2026, while ETIAS authorisation has not launched yet. Arriving through Geneva's French sector and entering Switzerland by road involves a customs point; carry your passport.
Cancelling a Verbier transfer
More than 72 hours before pickup, cancellations cost nothing. From 72 hours the charge is 10%, from 48 hours half the fare, and from 24 hours, or for a no-show, the whole fare. Because flights are tracked, a late landing is never treated as a no-show on the Verbier run.
