Two airports: Mopa or Dabolim?
Check your ticket first, because the airports are far apart and the code decides the plan.
Manohar International Airport (GOX) opened in January 2023 at Mopa in Pernem taluka, in the far north of the state, and handles a large share of domestic and international traffic. It is closest to Morjim, Ashwem, Mandrem and Arambol, and about 35 km from Panaji.
Dabolim Airport (GOI) is near Vasco da Gama in the south, a civil enclave at the naval air station INS Hansa, about 28 km from Panaji and close to the southern beaches of Bogmalo, Colva, Benaulim and Cavelossim.
At both, standard pickup is at the airport's designated pre-arranged pickup area outside arrivals; the chauffeur messages the car number and spot. Being met with a name board at either Goa airport is an add-on. Add-ons are only available in selected locations. Pickups are flight-tracked with 60 minutes of included waiting on international arrivals, 30 minutes on domestic flights and 15 minutes on other pickups, then 15-minute blocks. Mormugao Port and cruise passengers
Mormugao Port at Vasco, a few kilometres from Dabolim, receives international cruise ships and coastal cruises, and a new international and domestic cruise terminal has been built there. It is a designated e-Visa seaport. Give us the ship and date; the chauffeur waits at the port's permitted pickup point, and shore excursions to Old Goa's churches or Panaji's Latin Quarter fit a half-day city tour. North Goa, South Goa and Panaji
North Goa, from Candolim and Calangute up to Anjuna, Vagator and Arambol, is livelier and busier. South Goa, from Colva to Cavelossim and Palolem, is quieter with larger resorts. Panaji, the capital on the Mandovi, has the Latin Quarter of Fontainhas and the riverfront casinos. Old Goa, 10 km east, holds the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Resorts guests often ask for include the Taj Fort Aguada at Sinquerim, the ITC Grand Goa at Arossim, and the Leela and Taj Exotica on the southern coast.
Goa's season and events
- November: the International Film Festival of India, usually in Panaji.
- December to early January: Christmas and New Year, the peak weeks; book cars early.
- February: the Goa Carnival, with parades in Panaji, Margao and Mapusa before Lent.
- March: Shigmo, the spring festival with float parades.
- June to September: the monsoon; many beach shacks close and some roads flood.

Rail: Madgaon, Thivim and Karmali
Goa sits on the Konkan Railway. Madgaon (Margao) is the main station for the south, Thivim serves the north, and Karmali is closest to Panaji and Old Goa. Tell us the train and coach and the chauffeur meets you outside.
Intercity routes from Goa
- Gokarna, Karnataka: about 140 km, 3 to 3.5 hours.
- Belagavi: about 110 km, 2.5 to 3 hours through the Western Ghats.
- Hampi: about 300 km, 6 to 7 hours.
- Mumbai: about 590 km, 10 to 12 hours; most travellers fly to Mumbai.

Roads and driving in Goa
India drives on the left. Roads between villages are narrow, and scooters, cattle and cyclists share them, so chauffeurs keep speeds down, especially after dark. The Atal Setu bridge at Panaji and the widened NH66 speed up north-south trips. Tolls, where they apply, are paid by FASTag.
Entry and visa notes
Most foreign visitors need a visa. The e-Visa is applied for on Indian Visa Online at least four days before arrival and is accepted at Goa's designated airports and at Mormugao seaport. All foreign nationals also file the online e-Arrival card within 72 hours before landing.

Villas, casinos and nights out
Many visitors to Goa stay in private villas in Assagao, Siolim, Parra or the villages behind Benaulim rather than in resorts. Villa lanes can be unlit and unsigned, so send the exact pin or the caretaker's directions with the booking and the chauffeur will confirm the route beforehand. Panaji's floating casinos on the Mandovi are boarded by launch from the riverfront jetties, and a car that waits for you, rather than a new car at 2 a.m., is the practical choice; book it as hourly chauffeur service. The same applies to a dinner in Assagao followed by a club in Vagator, where the drive between them is short but parking is not.
Fare, cancellation and child seats
Your fare is fixed at booking and includes the waiting allowance. Cancel more than 72 hours before pickup and nothing is charged; at 72 hours or less it is 10 %, at 48 hours or less 50 %, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show 100 %. Child seats for families are free on request.
