Old city, Charminar and Golconda
The old city south of the Musi River holds Charminar, the Laad Bazaar bangle market and the Chowmahalla Palace. Driving in Hyderabad
India drives on the left. Toll plazas, including those on the Outer Ring Road, are paid by FASTag. Traffic peaks between 8:30 and 11:00 and again from 17:30 to 20:30 in the IT corridor. The monsoon, roughly June to September, can flood underpasses quickly after heavy rain.
Arriving in India: visa and e-Arrival card
Most foreign visitors need a visa. The Indian e-Visa (tourist, business, medical and conference categories) is applied for online through the government's Indian Visa Online portal, at least four days before arrival, and is valid for entry only through designated airports and seaports; Hyderabad is one of them.
