Udaipur's airport is at Dabok, about 22 km northeast of the city centre, with a single terminal for domestic flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur and other Indian cities. International guests usually connect through Delhi or Mumbai. The chauffeur meets you at the designated pickup area for pre-booked cars outside the arrivals exit and sends the car number when you land. A name-board meet and greet at the arrivals door is an add-on, and add-ons are only available in selected locations.

The lake palaces: how arrival actually works
Several of Udaipur's best-known hotels cannot be reached directly by car. Taj Lake Palace stands on its own island in Lake Pichola and guests transfer by the hotel's boat from its jetty; the chauffeur drops you and your luggage at that jetty. Jagmandir, the island palace used for weddings, is also reached only by boat. The Oberoi Udaivilas and The Leela Palace Udaipur sit on the western shore of Pichola and have their own driveways, while the City Palace complex, including the Shiv Niwas and Fateh Prakash hotels, is approached through its gates above the old city. The lanes of the old city around Jagdish Temple and Gangaur Ghat are narrow and busy, so larger vans and coaches stop at the nearest point that can take them.

Destination weddings in Udaipur: how we move guests
Udaipur is one of the most popular destination-wedding cities in India, and the ground plan is often the hardest part. A typical three-day wedding might involve airport arrivals spread over two days, shuttles between two or three hotels, a mehendi at one palace, a sangeet at another and the wedding at a lakeside venue. What a coordinator sets up:
- A guest manifest with flight numbers, so each arrival is flight-tracked and matched to the right car.
- A shuttle loop between the host hotel and the event venues, with Standard Black SUVs or Sprinter Vans on fixed timings.

- Timing around the baraat, the groom's procession, when roads near the venue may be held for some time.

The season, festivals and events by month
- October to March: the main wedding and tourist season, with pleasant weather and heavy hotel demand.
- March or April: the Mewar Festival, around Gangaur, with processions to the ghats of Lake Pichola; Holi falls in the same months.
- April to June: very hot, with fewer events and lower hotel occupancy.
- July to September: the monsoon fills the lakes and brings visitors from other Indian cities.
- Late December: Shilpgram Utsav, the crafts fair at Shilpgram west of the city.

- Jodhpur: about 250 km, 4.5 to 5 hours.
- Jaipur: about 400 km on NH 48, 6 to 7 hours.

Trains
Udaipur City station, south of the centre, has trains to Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur, including a Vande Bharat service to Jaipur. Chauffeurs collect at the station forecourt.

Road conditions and local habits
Driving is on the left. Cows, camel carts and tractors share the highway, and the ghat roads to Kumbhalgarh are narrow with tight bends, so trips after dark take longer. Interstate trips into Gujarat or Madhya Pradesh involve state permit charges, which are part of the fixed fare shown.
Visas and arrival
Most foreign guests need an Indian visa; many nationalities qualify for the e-Visa on Indian Visa Online. Foreign nationals also submit the digital e-Arrival Card within 72 hours before landing at their first Indian airport, usually Delhi or Mumbai, and clear immigration there before the domestic connection to Udaipur.
Cancellation
