IGI Airport: T1, T2 and T3 explained
Indira Gandhi International Airport is south-west of central Delhi and has three passenger terminals.

Terminal 1 is several kilometres from T2 and T3 by road, so a wrong terminal is costly. Put the terminal and flight number in the booking. The standard BlaakLane.com service is curbside at the terminal's designated area for pre-arranged cars, which your confirmation describes. A name-board meet and greet at the arrivals exit is an add-on; add-ons are only available in selected locations, and the engine shows whether it can be added. Only ticketed passengers may enter Indian terminal buildings, so meeters wait outside the arrivals gate.
Noida International Airport (DXN)
Delhi NCR's second major airport, at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh, began commercial flights in June 2026, starting with domestic routes. It is about 75 km from central Delhi, usually 1.5 to 2.5 hours via the Yamuna Expressway, and much closer to Greater Noida. We book DXN pickups like any other airport.
Aerocity: the hotel district beside the runway
Aerocity is a planned hospitality district a few minutes from Terminal 3. It holds the Andaz Delhi, the JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, the Pullman and Novotel, Holiday Inn, Roseate House and other hotels, with restaurants and offices in between. Transfers from T3 usually take 10 to 20 minutes, and Terminal 1 is 20 to 35 minutes away. Central New Delhi: Lutyens' Delhi, Chanakyapuri and Connaught Place
The capital's core is organised around wide tree-lined avenues. Connaught Place is the commercial centre, with offices, banks and hotels. Chanakyapuri holds most embassies and high commissions, plus The Leela Palace and The Taj Palace nearby. Lutyens' Delhi, around Kartavya Path, India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan, contains ministries and official residences, and security arrangements there can close roads with little notice. Delegations and embassy staff can use government and diplomatic transport.

Gurugram and Noida: the NCR business belts
Gurugram (Haryana)
Across the Haryana border, Gurugram hosts DLF Cyber City, Udyog Vihar, Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road, where many multinational headquarters, consultancies and tech firms sit. The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) is the main link from the airport and is badly congested at peak hours near Shankar Chowk and IFFCO Chowk. The Dwarka Expressway, opened in 2024, gives an alternative route to the newer sectors in the west.
Noida and Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh)
East of the Yamuna, Noida has IT parks, media studios in Film City and corporate offices along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Greater Noida is home to the India Expo Centre and Mart, a large trade fair venue. From central Delhi, the DND Flyway and the Barapullah elevated road are the usual routes.
Convention centres and big-event days
Two venues dominate Delhi's event calendar. Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, rebuilt for the G20 summit in 2023, is in central Delhi. Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre, is in Dwarka Sector 25, about 10 to 20 minutes from IGI, and is connected by an extension of the Airport Express metro. Large fairs also use the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Cricket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and events at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium bring evening closures. Delhi's calendar: months that affect road travel
- January: Republic Day on 26 January, with parade rehearsals through the month and the Beating Retreat ceremony on 29 January. Roads around Kartavya Path and India Gate close for long periods.
- Early in the year: the Bharat Mobility Global Expo (the successor to the Auto Expo) usually spreads across Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and Greater Noida.
- February: the India Art Fair, usually at the NSIC grounds in Okhla.
- October or November: Diwali, with heavy shopping traffic, and the Delhi Half Marathon, usually in October or November.
- November to February: the winter wedding season, when baraat processions slow evening roads, and dense fog that can delay flights and slow expressways for hours.
Festival dates follow the lunar calendar; confirm them each year.
Private aviation at IGI
Business jets at Delhi use the general aviation terminal on the airport's grounds, separate from T1, T2 and T3, with their own customs and immigration handling arranged by the ground handler. Give us the tail number, handler and expected arrival, and the chauffeur is timed to the aircraft. Leaving Delhi: timing your airport run
From Connaught Place or Chanakyapuri, most departures to Terminal 3 need 45 to 75 minutes on the road at peak hours, and 30 to 40 late at night. From Noida, allow 75 to 110 minutes. Indian airports check tickets at the terminal door, and security queues at T3 can be long in the evening, so plan to arrive about three hours before an international flight. In December and January, morning fog can delay departures; check your flight status before you set off, and move the pickup time in your booking if the airline reschedules.
Air quality rules and driving realities
India drives on the left. Delhi's winter air pollution triggers the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), set by the Commission for Air Quality Management. At its higher stages it restricts older BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel cars and some non-Delhi vehicles, and it can halt construction. Delhi also bars diesel cars older than 10 years and petrol cars older than 15. None of these limits touch our vehicles, since every affiliate car is four model years old or younger, but GRAP announcements can change traffic patterns overnight.
Peak hours run about 9:00 to 11:00 and 17:30 to 20:30. Horn use is constant, lane discipline is loose, and cows, cycle rickshaws and cyclists share many roads. Chauffeurs familiar with NCR plan around the big junctions on NH-48, the Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road.
Rail stations and intercity routes from Delhi
New Delhi Railway Station (with entrances on the Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate sides), Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal, Old Delhi and Delhi Cantonment handle long-distance trains. The Airport Express metro runs from T3 to New Delhi station in about 20 minutes.

Arriving in India: e-Visa and e-Arrival card
Many travellers can apply for an Indian e-Visa (tourist, business, conference or medical) online before departure, and Delhi's IGI is a designated e-Visa entry airport. All foreign nationals, including OCI cardholders, must also submit the electronic e-Arrival card within 72 hours before landing; it became mandatory on 1 October 2025 and replaced the paper card. Night-time international banks at T3 mean long immigration queues, which is why our 60-minute international wait starts from actual landing.
